How does the contest work?
You will register, and make your winning football picks each week to qualify for the weekly and grand prizes.
Do I need a valid email address?
Yes. When you register you will receive an email to that account, and need to click on the link to validate your account. We will also send you a weekly reminder about games. If you're account is not validated through email, you will not be able to play.
When does the contest start and end?
Picks start with the Sept. 8 game and end with the Feb. 5, 2012 games.
How old do I have to be to play?
Anyone can play, but you must be at least 21 years old or older to win any prizes and have a valid ID.
Do I have to be a resident of Kern County to play?
Anyone can play, but to you must be a resident of Kern County to qualify for prizes.
When do I have to make my picks?
Picks can be made 1 hour prior to the start of the first game for the weekly game set. Weekly game sets will be broken up into two groups - Set 1 includes Thursday and Saturday games, and Set 2 includes Sunday and Monday games.
How do I know when new games are posted to play?
We will notify you via email with the email address you registered with.
When will the winner be announced?
Weekly winners will be announced by 5 p.m. on Wednesdays. Grand prize winner will be announced in February 2012.
How will winners be notified?
Winners will be notified by email and will be posted on the "Winners" page online. Winners have 10 business days to pick-up their prize. After 10 business days, the prize will be given to the next player.
How are the winners picked?
Weekly winners are picked by taking the top 25 players for that week, and randomly drawing a winner. Scores will be combined from both weekly game sets to determine the top 25.
Two winners will be picked and tie-breaker will determine the prize.
Grand prize winner is picked by putting the weekly winners, and the top 25 overall players in a random drawing. If a weekly winner has won more than once, they will get their name in the drawing once for each win. To qualify for the grand prize you must be resident of Kern County and at least 21 years old or older and have a valid I.D. to win.
What are the prizes?
Grand Prize Winner - Trip for 2 to Waikiki, Hawaii sponsored by Lambourne Travel with the leading vendor to Hawaii, Pleasant Holidays. The trip details include a 7 nights' stay at the Deluxe Sheraton Waikiki Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii, with roundtrip airfare from LAX for two people traveling together. Also included are complimentary lei greetings and the roundtrip transfers between the airport and hotel in Hawaii.
Travel not available over major holidays. Travel to be completed between February 2012 and December 2012. Must be booked by Lambourne Travel Partners. Prize is transferable. Must be 21 years of age to participate. Trip valued at $4,265. The winner can apply the value of the trip to an existing Pleasant Holidays reservation booked by Lambourne Travel Partners.
1st Place Weekly Prize - $75.00 good only towards the SUNDAY NFL BREAKFAST FEAST sponsored by Prime Cut. Not transferable. No cash value and not valid with any other offer. Value must be used in a single seating. Expires 3/31/2012.
2nd Place Weekly Prize - $30 worth of pizza at a Bakersfield Mountain Mike's. Not transferable. No cash value and not valid with any other offer. Value must be used in a single seating. Expires 2/29/12.
Will my picks be printed?
No, picks for users will not be printed. Picks for the experts will appear in Friday's newspaper.
